" The social impact I want to create is highly dependent on community, exchange, and learning from each other. The Millennium Fellowship is a perfect opportunity to connect with people with unique perspectives and stories. I am excited to be a part of a network of young people who are dedicated to changing their world and making it better, and hope that my contribution nourishes and offers opportunities to other projects as well. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Political Dialogue Magazine

"Aretē is your new favorite magazine — a home for political essays, personal stories, sharp social critique, and conversations with inspiring voices. We curate an experience centered on true knowledge and virtue.
We believe that everything is political. Meaningful participation — through dialogue, community-building, and the willingness to challenge one’s own ideas — lays the path toward a hopeful future.
In times when headlines overwhelm and media bias dominates, Aretē seeks to offer depth and reflection. We create space for subjective storytelling that brings context and humanity to the current affairs surrounding us. Our hope is that a story in Aretē sparks your curiosity — that it inspires you to learn about a country’s history, to pick up a book or research paper, or to find people to learn from.
Aretē is more than a magazine: it’s a community, a living collection of stories, and an attempt to shape a conscious generation of leaders — one that seeks understanding over outrage and wisdom over noise."

About the Millennium Fellow

Mira Bungarachmana Raue is a Political Science and Legal Studies student at New York University Abu Dhabi. Born in Berlin to a German mother and Indonesian father, she has long been fascinated by the post-colonial world order and how it shapes societies today. She aspires to lead through example, inclusion, and wisdom, and believes deeply in the transformative power of stories. The magazine that she applied to the Millennium Fellowship with is a tribute to this vision, contributing to a public discourse driven by curiosity, tolerance, and knowledge through sharing stories and perspectives.
