" I do this work because I have seen how small changes can make someone feel seen and valued. The Millennium Fellowship excites me because it gives me a chance to learn, share, and create impact alongside people who care just as deeply.
For me, this is not just a project it is a way to stand up for conversations that should have always been open. The Millennium Fellowship gives me the space to do that with purpose. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Green-Watch

Project GreenWatch is a youth-led climate action initiative designed and executed by the Millennium Fellows of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) under the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025, aligned with the global theme “The Legacy We Build: Vision, Voice, and Action.”
The project responds to increasing climate vulnerabilities in North India—especially the 2023 Himachal Pradesh floods and recurring floods in Punjab and Chandigarh—by focusing on early climate education, creative awareness, and youth leadership development.
The initiative engages school children, youth, and communities through a combination of scientific learning, art-based expression, plantation drives, and digital outreach. It aims to not only spread knowledge about climate change but also build emotional connection, responsibility, and long-term stewardship among students.

About the Millennium Fellow

Nyssa Bagga is a second-year undergraduate student driven by a belief that design can spark meaningful social change. Growing up in a defense family, she learned the values of service for others and leadership early on. She now works on initiatives like Flow Forward, a project challenging menstrual stigma and improving accessibility to sanitary products. Combining creativity, empathy, designers mindset and community engagement, Nyssa envisions solutions that are not only practical but also inspire conversation and inclusion. She aims to create impact that lasts beyond the classroom.
