Millennium Fellowship Project: Shuddh Aahar

Shuddh Aahar is a community-driven awareness initiative focused on educating people about food adulteration and promoting access to pure, safe, and healthy food. Today, many households unknowingly consume adulterated products due to misleading marketing, lack of awareness, and rising commercialization of basic food items like milk, paneer, oil, and spices. This directly affects community health, especially among middle-class families who spend their hard-earned money expecting quality but often receive unsafe alternatives.
The project aims to bridge this knowledge gap by teaching people how to identify adulterated foods, understand ingredient labels, and make informed choices while buying daily essentials. Through awareness campaigns, offline events, simple food-testing demonstrations, and collaborations with content creators who already educate the public on these issues, Shuddh Aahar empowers students and local residents to protect themselves and their families.
The long-term goal is to build a community that values purity, transparency, and well-being — reinforcing that access to clean, unadulterated food is a basic human right.
