UNITED NATIONS ACADEMIC IMPACT AND MCN PROUDLY PRESENT VAANI GARG, A MILLENNIUM FELLOW FOR THE CLASS OF 2025.
Punjab Engineering College | Chandigarh, India | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 11, SDG 17 & UNAI 9

" I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it’s a rare opportunity to turn a deeply personal mission into a collective movement for change. My work with underprivileged children has shown me that brilliance and curiosity are everywhere, but opportunity is not. Education—especially when combined with digital literacy—isn't just a tool for academic success; it’s a gateway to confidence, independence, and possibility. The Millennium Fellowship offers the structure, mentorship, and global community needed to scale this impact, while also challenging me to think bigger and act more strategically. I do this work because I've seen firsthand how a single moment of understanding—a child realizing they can—can change the trajectory of a life. Every workshop, every conversation, is a chance to bridge the gap between potential and opportunity. Being part of this Fellowship means I'm not walking this path alone; I'm joining a network of change-makers committed to building a world where no dream is out of reach. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Project Green-Watch
Project GreenWatch is a youth-led climate action initiative designed and executed by the Millennium Fellows of Punjab Engineering College (PEC) under the Millennium Fellowship Class of 2025, aligned with the global theme “The Legacy We Build: Vision, Voice, and Action.”
The project responds to increasing climate vulnerabilities in North India—especially the 2023 Himachal Pradesh floods and recurring floods in Punjab and Chandigarh—by focusing on early climate education, creative awareness, and youth leadership development.
The initiative engages school children, youth, and communities through a combination of scientific learning, art-based expression, plantation drives, and digital outreach. It aims to not only spread knowledge about climate change but also build emotional connection, responsibility, and long-term stewardship among students.
