" My work is driven by the belief that education is the most powerful tool to break cycles of inequality. The Millennium Fellowship offers a unique space to turn this belief into action through global collaboration, mentorship, and impact-driven strategies. With this platform, I aim to scale Empower Her Education, giving more girls the chance to dream, achieve, and lead—because when we educate a girl, we transform a community. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Empower Her Education

My project, Empower Her Education, is all about making sure young girls, especially from underprivileged communities, get the education they deserve. In many parts of India, girls are forced to drop out of school due to issues like early marriage, child labor, harassment, and lack of family support. Even when education is free, schools often lack basic facilities, and teachers may not take their jobs seriously. Through this project, I want to help more girls stay in school and create an environment where they feel safe and encouraged to learn. This means working on awareness programs to change mindsets, pushing for better school conditions, and ensuring legal protections are actually enforced. My experience with organizations like the Delhi Commission for Protection of Child Rights (DCPCR) and the Law Commission of India has shown me how deeply rooted these problems are, but also that real change is possible when people come together. The goal is simple: education should not be a privilege, but a right that every girl gets to enjoy without fear or barriers. If we can make that happen, we give these girls a shot at a future where they can dream, achieve, and lead just like anyone else.
