" as someone that is driven by compassion and the ever growing need to be able to solve problems within the community one at a time, i believe the Millennium Fellowship will empower me with the tools to lead and execute a well thought plan to give back to the community in my capacity. I have always dreamt to be part of a team that brings change. Working together with like minded people in my campus also sounds like a very interesting thing to look forward to. To be challenged and to challenge, to learn and to teach is a great part of this program which is very exciting. i hope to make meaningful connection within my campus and do good at the same time. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: Mind space
Mind space is a collaboration in mental health wellness and pomotion, encoperating mental health coping strategies particulrly for school going youths in secondary schools, high schools and also colleges, the motivation for this is that in our communities there is an increased incidence of sucide, depression and other mental health issues which are so painfully debilitating that they often lead to death and school dropouts in some cases.
About the Millennium Fellow
Entle Onneetse is a Medical Student at the University of Botswana having completed a 1 year Bachelor of Science General at the same institution as a prerequisite. As a dedicated medical student with a passion for community service, she has sought out opportunities to broaden her knowledge, lead and contribute to the community. She started her journey by volunteering at Princess Marina Hospital at 16, a challenging yet very fulfilling role that taught her humility, dignity and compassion especially considering this was during the COVID-19 pandemic. She further challenged herself by becoming a youth ambassador of Botswana and later senior youth ambassador for International Association for Adolescent Health, an experience that taught her strategic thinking, collaboration and leadership. This role challenged her to have a dream for the adolescent community, identify and mitigate the problems that they face. She has always been a passionate and driven individual that always strives for more.
