" I want to be a Millennium Fellow because the mission of the Fellowship perfectly aligns with my personal vision to create a world where smallholder farmers, especially in rural communities, have access to the tools, knowledge, and support needed to thrive. As someone who has watched my mother struggle to build her poultry farm with limited resources, I've seen firsthand how a lack of support and access can hinder potential and affect livelihoods. This has shaped my passion for social impact and community empowerment. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Pink Voices

The Pink Voices Project is a breast cancer awareness campaign I carried out as part of my Millennium Fellowship social impact tour and project. Initially, I planned to implement a project called LiveFresh, aimed at supporting farmers with affordable, high-quality animal feed. However, due to resource limitations and timing challenges, I was unable to execute LiveFresh within the Fellowship timeline.
‎Instead, I redirected my efforts toward a health-focused initiative in collaboration with Clear Radiology, a medical imaging center. Through this project, I volunteered in sensitizing the public especially women on the importance of early detection and screening for breast cancer. I participated in outreach events (such as breast cancer walk), distributed educational materials, and engaged in one-on-one conversations to break the stigma and fear surrounding breast health.
‎This project aligns with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being. It was impactful because it reached people at the grassroots level and encouraged many to prioritize their health and consider screening many for the first time. It also reminded me that being flexible and responsive to community needs is a key part of creating meaningful change.
