" “I am excited to be a Millennium Fellow because it allows me to transform my experiences with climate challenges into meaningful action, empowering vulnerable communities to build resilience and hope for a sustainable future.” "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Earth Guardians

Through this project, I want to empower vulnerable communities suffering due to climate change. Many people are losing their homes, farms, and livelihoods due to rising sea levels, unpredictable weather, and extreme temperatures. Earth Guardians aims to help these communities by providing education, resources, and livelihood support so they can adapt and flourish despite environmental challenges. This project will focus on three practical and high-impact actions: 1) Educate & Prepare – Organizing community sessions on climate awareness, disaster preparedness, and sustainable farming/livelihood alternatives. 2) Provide Direct Support – Distributing essential materials like weather-resistant shelters, cooling/heating solutions, and assistance for climate change affected farmers. 3) Empower Livelihoods – Helping affected individuals develop new skills, access alternative income sources, and connect with support programs. I will collaborate with local NGOs, student volunteers, and climate experts to maximize the project's reach and impact.

About the Millennium Fellow

Hemendra Krishania is a B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) student at ILC, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi.
