" Activism and critical theory inform my work for the cause of creating safe spaces for queer students at university. I look forward to be able to merge UN SDG principles and champion these principles across academic spaces. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Gender Sensitization

My Millennium Fellowship project focuses on building inclusive, gender-sensitized campus spaces through arts-based engagement and community dialogue. I led the founding and full execution of Ramjas College’s first-ever queer-centric GSC Fest, conceptualized entirely from scratch as a platform for representation, safety, and celebration.
The project brought together 250+ students, featured 7+ interactive stalls, a panel discussion with diverse speakers, and a thematic stage performance in which I also acted. I managed social media, PR, logistics, finances, programming, and outreach to 25+ artists and speakers, ensuring intersectional and diverse participation.
At its core, the project aims to challenge stigma, normalize conversations around gender and sexuality, and cultivate student-led spaces of empowerment, aligning with the SDGs on reduced inequalities (SDG 10) and gender equality (SDG 5). Through community-building, creative expression, and institutional collaboration, the project establishes a replicable model for inclusive cultural initiatives within universities.
