Millennium Fellowship Project: GIRLS for GREEN LEADERSHIP
Girls for Green Leadership (GGL) is a youth-led environmental initiative aimed at empowering young girls in schools and universities to become eco-leaders and climate action advocates in Tanzania. The project will establish eco-clubs, conduct sustainability competitions, launch awareness campaigns (both in-person and via social media), organize confidence-building sessions, and implement community clean-up drives. By engaging young women and their peers, GGL seeks to create a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility that continues beyond the project.
About the Millennium Fellow
Sajo Mathias is a Tanzanian industrial engineering student from University of Dar es Salaam and youth advocate passionate about quality education for everyone, environmental conservation, mental health awareness and community development. He has held various leadership roles including Head prefect, academic prefect, class representative , debate leader and has participated and led various initiatives such as environmental conservation campaigns, educational activities for children, blood donation activities, and youth empowerment. He strives to address social challenges, empower communities and inspire changes.
