Millennium Fellowship Project: HealthBridge

HealthBridge is a project designed to educate parents on two key areas that promote the health and wellbeing of children: routine childhood vaccination and the importance of maintaining close parent–child relationships.
The first component of the project focuses on increasing parents’ awareness of the importance of timely vaccination for children from birth to 16 years. It highlights essential vaccines—such as polio, hepatitis, and measles etc and explains how immunization protects children from preventable diseases. To further promote vaccine uptake, parents who express interest in vaccinating their children will be connected to hospitals that provide these vaccination services. In addition, parents will be advised to seek proper confirmation and guidance from qualified healthcare professionals before their children receive any vaccine. They will also be encouraged to ask doctors about the benefits and advantages of each vaccine to help them feel confident, informed, and assured about their children’s health decisions.
The second component of the project emphasizes the importance of parents maintaining close and nurturing relationships with their children. It encourages parents to actively support their children’s emotional, social, and intellectual development, which strengthens family bonds and creates a positive environment for healthy growth.
