" “Faith and science together can transform how communities care for our planet. Through the Millennium Fellowship, I am excited to amplify the Child in Biodiversity Conservation Project, equipping young people and faith-based communities to lead climate action. This platform will strengthen my leadership, expand collaboration, and align my impact with the SDGs.” "

Millennium Fellowship Project: Child in Biodiversity Conservation (CBC)

Imagine a world where children are the driving force behind environmental conservation. Through the Child in Biodiversity Conservation (CBC) Project, I empower rural children and youth from various faith-based organizations and communities to become environmental stewards. We combine faith-based teachings with scientific biodiversity conservation to restore ecosystems, promote tree planting, and build climate resilience. Currently active in Kayonza and Gatsibo districts near Akagera National Park, our project has already reached to 7,000 children and youth, planted 2,400 trees, trained 1,203 teachers, and distributed 2,000 environmental education materials to schools and Sunday schools. By 2028, we aim to engage 14,400 children in environmental education, plant 80,000 trees, and establish eco-clubs across Rwanda. During the Millennium Fellowship, I plan to expand CBC’s reach by launching more tree-planting initiatives, advocacy programs, and interactive learning sessions with children in conservation hotspots.
