University of the People | Global, United States | Advancing SDG 4, SDG 5 & UNAI 3

" My empathy and moral concern drive me to find innovative solutions and impactful initiatives, which have sparked my interest in becoming a Millennium Fellow. I believe this is an opportunity for me to develop and improve my skills through collaboration with teammates. Moreover, this Fellowship would make my social impact more tangible, helping fulfill the United Nations SDGs. Lastly, it would also give me better insights into what actions to take and how to pursue my passion for social justice and the right to better education more effectively. "
Millennium Fellowship Project: EmpowerHer Young Mind for Sustainable Leadership
My initiative supports young secondary-school students, especially girls, who often lack guidance about their future and face cultural, societal, and financial pressures that limit their aspirations, sometimes leading them to assume marriage is their only path. I work to expand their vision by teaching public speaking, offering mentorship, organizing workshops, and connecting them with national and international role models through storytelling. By exposing students to diverse careers and positive role models, particularly in communities where educational barriers are common, the program motivates students to value learning, build confidence, and imagine brighter futures. Overall, the initiative promotes social impact by advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 5 (Gender Equality).
