Millennium Fellowship Project: Women Empowerment Through Education: Rise Up Girl!
The project Rise Up Girl aims to empower teenage mothers and young girls in Zimbabwe aged 15-24 with knowledge and skills to claim their sexual rights, pursue education, and break the cycle of poverty. The project will provide comprehensive sexuality education, back-to-school support and mentorship, while also promoting community engagement and awareness campaigns to reduce teenage pregnancies and gender based violence.
About the Millennium Fellow
Choto Vongai Lavender is a bright hardworking Medical Physics student at the University of Zimbabwe.She was born and raised in a small town in Zimbabwe called Rusape and has relocated to the county's capital Harare where the University of Zimbabwe is located .Vongai has always been passionate about advancing the advocacy for social justice and the rights of women especially the young women from less fortunate families.Vongai has worked with fellow church mates in recent years to help underprivileged women and teen moms continue with their education.Vongai has a strong interest in helping the society at large for as long as she lives .
