" I am excited to ba a Millennium Fellow because it gives me the opportunity to connect with like-minded change makers and turn my passion for women's rights, education, and global equity into concrete action. I do this work because i believe one person or one generation truly has the power to change the world. "

Millennium Fellowship Project: SustainHer Sip n' Thrift

SustainHer is a project created by Millennium Fellows who care about bringing
sustainability and women’s advocacy together. We’re teaming up across universities in Vienna to host thrift and donation events where students can exchange, buy, or donate clothes — while also creating space for open, honest conversations about women’s experiences on campus. Through these events, we hope to cut down on waste, support local women’s shelters, and build stronger, more supportive communities for women.

About the Millennium Fellow

Somtochukwu Okenwa is a driven psychology student at Webster Vienna Private University, with a strong commitment to advancing social impact. She embodies a completely global perspective, having grown up in both the United States and Nigeria and currently studying in Austria. Somto has been committes in bringing about long-term change since she was a child, guided by the notion that one person or generation can change the world.
Her activism focuses on women's rights, equitable access to education, food security, and the abolition of child marriage. These commitments motivate her to actively participate in volunteer work and engage with groups that supportb these issues. Looking ahead, Somto hopes to become a clinical psychologist, launch her own business, and start a non-profit committed to women's rights, equal access to education, and sustainable development. She hopes that these activities will contribute meaningfully to the achievement of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
