In recent times, Uzochukwu has organized tutorial classes both for his fellow classmates and the sophomore students of the faculty. This particular act speaks so much of his inherent eagerness to show empathy for students who finds it difficult to understand some course topics being taught in the class. Here, we believe that antimicrobial resistance which has continued to be a terror to the entire global community could be curbed or at least be brought to a minimum if people actually have a good knowledge of it's dangers and implications. Our main aim doesn't stop with creating awareness on the misuse of antibiotics, it goes further to creating strong antimicrobial stewards. " Millennium Fellowship Project: Project H.I.F.A.-Delta The project was borne out of the identification of poor health seeking habit as one of the major contributors to poor outcomes at the Delta State University Teaching Hospital, Oghara. This is as a result of low income with resultant self-medication as a cheaper alternative. The consequence of this is late presentation with poor prognosis. Having identified the primary issue, a group of medical students, currently undergoing clinical training at the teaching hospital, willing to change this narrative, birthed this project and applied through the United Nations Academic Impact – Millennium Campus Fellowship. we realize that in the midst of abundance of health insurance schemes, the enlightenment about being covered is not widespread. Project HIFA-Delta targets indigenes of Delta State Nigeria to have as much individuals as possible registered under this scheme. the scheme offers free healthcare to pregnant women and children under 5 years of age. the relevance of this project is to get other individuals not captured in the above-mentioned groups, through enlightenment and where available, insurance premium subsidization, to become beneficiaries of the scheme. this is a step in actualizing the UCH 2030 where health is recognized as a basic right. Eliminating all forms of violence at work and in education is not only the right thing to do from a human and labor rights perspective, but it also is the smart thing to do for employers and educational institutions in terms of workplace efficiency and productivity. The objectives: 1. The project aligns with the Sexual Harassment Prohibition Bill in Tertiary institutions, focused on strengthening institutional response to reports of sexual harassment on campus. then training students to be proactive and reactive bystanders on all forms of GBV in the institution. 2. To provide support and proper referral to victims of gender-based violence. 3. To educate 100-200 Students on their human and sexual reproductive health and rights 4.To break the silence on gender-based violence, agitate for increased and improved institutional response to GBV. We shall organise virtual session and campaigns through the use of posters on various social media platforms promoting gender equality, rights of the girl child and tackling the issue of gender-based violence.and engagements on experiences and solutions to sexual harassment in tertiary institutions. Aligned with SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), the project aimed to raise awareness, promote healthy practices, and implement essential healthcare interventions to improve the overall well-being of this underserved population. Our team conducted four comprehensive sessions at Mashal Model School, each tailored to the needs of specific groups. The first session engaged teachers, focusing on personal hygiene, deworming, menstruation, nutrition, and mental well-being to help them serve as health role models. The second session for parents covered similar topics to encourage a supportive home environment. An interactive session with children highlighted the importance of hygiene and health, while the final session for females emphasized menstrual hygiene management, addressing a critical yet often neglected issue. SHIELD also delivered practical healthcare solutions by conducting a deworming activity for children and organizing a medical camp to address broader health concerns, providing essential healthcare services to the area's residents. SHIELD represents a holistic approach to community health, combining education, empowerment, and healthcare delivery to create a sustainable impact. About the Millennium Fellow Yoza Ilyas is a driven and globally aware individual with a deep passion for public health. Residing in Islamabad, Pakistan, Yoza has always been committed to making a positive impact on community health and well-being. From an early age, their dedication to improving public health outcomes has been evident, and this passion has only grown stronger through their academic and professional journey. With a background in public health and a strong focus on addressing health disparities, Yoza has been actively involved in various initiatives aimed at promoting health equity and access to quality care.
