" Millennium Fellowship Project: You Matter Initiave Most students in rural areas lack knowledge about the variety of opportunities (both academics and non-academic) available to them after graduation. It is divided into two main parts and also has a minor feature which would be a podcast. The first part of the project involves organizing campaigns and visiting schools in remote rural areas in Ghana to enlighten high school students from these schools about the opportunities and programs available to high school students. The Ashesi team will walk them through what they have to do to be fully equipped with the necessary skills to be entitled to these opportunities. The second part of the problem involves organizing a 3-month mentorship program between high school students from rural areas with student volunteers from universities worldwide. The mentor-mentee pairing will be done considering the students' career aspirations. Through this mentorship program, the students will learn from their seniors who when through the process before them. They will be able to gain guidance concerning their path after high school graduation. The podcast would focus on having talks with student entrepreneurs. This would be to discuss how these entrepreneurs came up with their business what inspires them and advice they would give to other students. The Ashesi team sees this as a necessary feature of the project because we would not want students to only focus of graduating and finding work. However, we would want some of these students to start up business which would in tend employ their mates and reduce the rate of unemployment in the country. This project is mainly focused on advancing SDG 4 and promoting the goal 5 of UNAI goals. University of Ilorin | Ilorin, Nigeria | Advancing SDG 3, SDG 6, SDG 11 & UNAI 1 " I am really excited to be part of the MCN Class of 2025/2026. I believe that this will be a great opportunity to amplify my project and make it a global success. " Millennium Fellowship Project: Project KCK - Keep Communities Klean The Project Keep Communities Klean (KCK) was targeted at communities-- local, student, industrial areas or even government reserved areas. It was birthed through MCN. The goal was to organize cleanup sessions and sensitize communities on the adverse and harmful impact of wastes on the environment. It was initially meant to kick-start on the World Cleanup Day 2025, but I was not able to push it out cos I was impeded by resources. I had to innovate and think of how to reactivate my project. When I later resumed on campus for a new session, I collaborated with other fellows and we did it together through faculties on my campus.
