" Millennium Fellowship Project: PANGELASSA REVIVAL My project aims at solving the problem of social exclusions in the communities. Based on living conditions of people in Rwanda, many are still under the line of poverty and there are other people who wish to help. However, they don't do so because there was no strategic way to do that. Recognizing this gap, we developed a system that will simplify donation process and enable communication between donating and receiving parties. It is a poly function system. It supports donation, management and communication processes. Depending on Rwandans level of understanding of what it means to help someone, we undoubtedly believe that many lives of people will be improved through this platform. Cuurently, more than a thousand people are impacted, and we hope to reach to more than 150 people through December. Our system is designed in a way that addresses every community meaning that it can be used globally where everyone can contribute to the improvement of human kind and yet every person will be positively impacted. It also gives me a platform to contribute my quota to the Nigerian Community, by reaching out to people in low income countries. Thus, they can be enlightened on better health care practice and have access to affordable Primary Health Care. It is saddening to see children die from diseases they could have been immunized against. Or diseases like VVF (that is usually not the fault of the victim) that results in stigma even though it can be treated. How can these ones be leaders of tomorrow when they cannot even see tomorrow? It is a burden in my heart to try as much as possible and see to it that people live healthier lives. " Millennium Fellowship Project: The Future Female Network. In a world with thousands of languages and differing dialects, having your voice heard can get lost in translation. When it comes to healthcare, this should not get in the way of being able to properly care for patients. Med Speak is a narrative visualization app that can help physicians, specialists, and patients ensure the best medical practices are at hand. While there are some programs out there for similar reasons, I believe a visual-based app can be more effective. This app will not only be for patients to communicate with physicians but for physicians to be able to explain procedures and plans of treatment as well. Patients can have it on their personal smart devices or medical offices can upload it to tablets that are mobile and can be easily accessible. It will be designed for communicative purposes in a similar manner to assistive technology for nonverbal peoples; i.e. nonverbal autistic. The app will be simple to navigate. About the Millennium Fellow Suzzel Joli Alberto is a first-generation American and college student born to Political refugees from Cuba. She is a Speech and hearing major, a political science minor.
