The process of getting this resources and refining it in the region, leads to crude oil pollution and other related pollution in the region, such as gas flaring. The pollution of the coastal waters of this region has left most its locals without a source of livelihood. We basically chose to do this project because of the level of pollution in the region. And also, the project is related to our course of study. This helped us to be more informed of the venture we were diving into. We do understand the population of people that needs to be environmentally aware, that is why we chose to continue after Millennium Fellowship.
